July 8th 2010 - Three Faiths

I took this photograph today from the corner of Princes Road in Toxteth, at the point where the duel carriageway begins. I liked the fact I was able to capture three different places of worship within one shot - The Jewish Synagogue in the foreground beyond the railings and the dome and spires of the Greek Orthodox church and the Anglican Cathedral respectively, in the distance. Liverpool certainly boasts to be the World in One City, and the same can be said of all faiths. Just a few streets in the opposite direction is the new Mosque too, all buildings within just a few square metres of each other.

March 10th 2010 - Anglican Cathedral Bell Tower

A view of the bell tower from the inside of the Anglican Cathedral. The bell is the heaviest in the world and the circle in the centre of this image is the space through which it was originally hoisted and covered. From the cathedral floor to this point is 150 foot, however, the tower itself is a further 150 foot higher again. An unusual camera angle, right in the centre of the 'Great Space' that is the Anglican Cathedral.

February 20th 2010 - Rodney Street

Liverpool's own Harley Street; the 'Georgian Quarter', with Grade 2 listed buildings and a number of blue plaques. Rodney Street is home to many of the city's law firms and private medical practices, not to mention the museum in the previous home of the renowned local photographer, E. Chambre Hardman. No matter how often I travel down this street I am always pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the Anglican Cathedral as I round the corner - seeming to spring from nowhere...here it peers over Rodney Street, with a watchful eye.
